Rhys Brunton completed his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Canterbury in 2022. During his 2020 summer break, he gained professional work experience at a hydrogen peroxide process plant. There, he developed a comprehensive documentation plan to monitor corrosion under insulation and stress corrosion cracking. This initiative plays a vital role in mitigating risks by identifying pipes with various levels of risk and the corresponding inspection intervals/locations.
The following year, Rhys gained practical experience in a precision machining workshop during his 2021 summer break. He contributed to ensuring product quality, managing the packaging and dispatch of goods, and maintaining precision CNC machines.
Upon graduating in 2022, Rhys embarked on his career in the air pollution control industry, taking on the role of Project/Design Engineer.
