Carbon Adsorption Towers

Our Carbon Adsorption Towers

Carbon Adsorption Towers are air pollution control units utilising activated carbon to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from tainted air flows. The air passes through a bed of activated carbon, where VOCs are adsorbed onto the carbon surface. Clean air then leaves the tower. The VOC-saturated carbon is periodically either regenerated (pollutants desorbed from the carbon surface) or replaced.

VOCs vary in their toxicity, but accumulate within buildings and can pose an acute or chronic risk to human health and/or other biological organisms.

This method is both effective and efficient, widely applied in industries such as chemical manufacturing, paint production, and printing. Carbon Adsorption Towers aid in preserving air quality and complying with air emission regulations.

How Does Carbon Work

The air stream is passed through a bed of activated carbon granules. The activated carbon granules have a massive surface area due to a very extensive pore structure. The gaseous contaminants are adsorbed onto the carbon surfaces.

Differently engineered activated carbons are available to target different gaseous contaminants. Vortex select the correct grade of activated carbon for the specific application.

At Vortex, we recognise the critical nature of clean air and regulatory compliance. Our experienced team delivers high-quality Carbon Adsorption Towers, tailor-made to suit the unique requirements of your operations.

Whether upgrading existing equipment or designing a new emission control system, our team can provide practical, fit-for-purpose solutions backed by real industrial experience.
