Efficient material processing relies on equipment that is carefully matched to the application. Throughput requirements, material characteristics and integration with existing plant all influence long-term reliability and operational performance.

Vortex Engineering was engaged to design and supply a high-capacity HB1000 Hammer Mill for an industrial processing application in New Zealand.

The client required a hammer mill capable of meeting the required production capacity while integrating with existing plant equipment. The solution was developed to provide reliable size reduction and support continuous operation.

Our Solution

Following a review of the client’s process requirements, Vortex Engineering specified an HB1000 Hammer Mill configured for the application.

The project includes the supply of the hammer mill together with remote commissioning support. The equipment has been engineered to integrate with the client’s existing process and meet the required operating conditions.

Key specifications:

Rotor diameter: 1000 mm

Number of hammers: 144

Installed motor power: 110 kW

Operating capacity: 15,200 kg/hr

Air flow: 10.0 m³/s

Rotor speed: 1488 rpm at 50 Hz

Workshop testing has been successfully completed to confirm that the hammer mill operates as designed and is ready for delivery and installation.
