Michy completed his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in India in 2010. He began his career in the wire and cable industry, designing wire drawing and tubular machines. He later moved into the development of sample preparation equipment for the mining and cement sectors, where his work included the design of robotic arms and sintering machines.
After moving to New Zealand, he completed a Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Design at Ara Institute of Canterbury in 2017. He then worked on mechanical systems for the primary industry, gaining practical experience in equipment design for local applications.
He joined Vortex Engineering in 2021 and has since been involved in the full lifecycle of mechanical equipment used in industrial air quality systems—from concept design through to fabrication support and project delivery. His role covers both technical design and project coordination, and he works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Michy enjoys approaching engineering challenges with a practical mindset and values the opportunity to contribute to projects that support cleaner industrial operations. Outside of work, he enjoys playing cricket and reading.
