Project overview
A local New Zealand client undertaking a large-scale soil remediation project required an effective dust control solution to ensure clean and safe operations. The project involved handling contaminated soil, which demanded precise and reliable dust extraction to maintain air quality and comply with environmental standards. Vortex Engineering was engaged to design and install a bespoke dust control system tailored to meet the specific needs of this remediation process.
Scope of Work
Vortex’s solution included the design, fabrication, and installation of a dust extraction system, featuring:
- PE 16 x 2050 Filter Baghouse: A 16-pleated element reverse pulse baghouse constructed from durable 3mm thick mild steel, ensuring robust performance and longevity. This welded-construction baghouse is equipped with pleated filter elements for enhanced filtration efficiency, capable of managing an extraction volume of 1.15m³/s.
- Aspiration System with Carbon Dosing: The system also included a carbon dosing feature for VOC treatment, effectively capturing and neutralising volatile organic compounds released during the remediation process. This ensured compliance with stringent environmental regulations.
- Industrial Fan: An industrial fan was integrated to support the dust extraction system, ensuring consistent airflow and efficient operation throughout the remediation process.
