ESPs are highly efficient air pollution control devices that remove harmful particles (particulates) and smoke from industrial emissions. They are ideal for applications where traditional filtration methods are not suitable. ESPs excel at tricky-to-handle dust and fumes.
At Vortex, we offer both dry and wet ESP solutions to meet the specific needs of each customer. Our team of experienced engineers and technicians can design, install, and maintain ESPs for a wide range of industries, ensuring cleaner air and compliance with environmental regulations.
ESPs offer several benefits over other air pollution control methods, including:
Dry Electrostatic Precipitators (Dry ESPs)
Vortex designs, builds and installs the largest range of dry electrostatic precipitators in New Zealand. With a combination of rugged construction, long life and ease of maintenance, our range has a proven track record for a variety of applications.
Wet Electrostatic Precipitators (WESPs)
In some applications, a WESP may be a more effective solution than a dry ESP. WESPs use water as a cleaning method as opposed to vibration (rappers). This is suitable for applications where the pollutant may not clean nicely off a collection plate. The increased humidity inside the WESP also helps to enhance the pollutants reactivity to the corona generated by an electrical charge.
ESPs use an electric charge to remove particles from the gas stream. As the gas passes through the ESP, it is ionized by a series of high-voltage electrodes. The charged particles are then attracted to a grounded collection surface, where they are removed and collected.
